Reads and Thoughts

Wow! *smiles* is the first word I uttered after reading this contemporary romance by Jillian Dodd. I was literally blown away by the story and especially its characters JJ, Phillip and Danny.

That Boy is one of the most creative books I've read. I really enjoyed the doodle on each and every chapter which greatly represents what’s behind it. It is also one of those books that I truly enjoyed its progression. Though it tends to be very long it was really nice seeing Jadyn's thoughts progressed and mature at the same time. Everything happened too fast; but it’s the kind of fast that you could really be able to catch up with. The relationship, story and plot were well told. The story gives it all allowing us readers to follow the lives of the characters from being kids playing on the backyard up to the day after their college graduation. As I finished reading it I truly feel part of the story and all. Also with this is the easy-breezy writing style that makes the story very realistic and flowed very nicely which isn’t too simple or too complex at all.

Jadyn grows up being a bit tomboy what with the two amazing boys who plays with her on their neighborhood. She may come naive and didn’t realize that she was really a hottie on the boys’ eyes but despite of that she's a very confident and funny and independent girl. Though a tragedy hit her early in her life, it’s good seeing her move on and carry on with her life. It was really nice reading her story. I really did enjoy seeing her experiences with love, heartbreaks and emotional breakdowns when it comes to THAT BOY.

Now the boys; Phillip is the knight-in-shining armor. He is safe and caring and there's nothing -literally nothing- he wouldn’t do for Jadyn. His sweetness for her really makes me swoon and makes me ask God to send someone like him for me. jeez! lol. She's his princess and there's nothing sweeter for me than hearing him call Jadyn that all the time. Then there's Danny. He's is nothing like Phillip. He’s a jock and may act very arrogant at times but with Jadyn he's anything but that. He has this fun and carefree persona within him.
Though they may be different in some aspects, both these boys care for Jadyn so much. They both have their own personality and little things that really make me love them.

Now, I don’t really like love triangles, especially like this one where both the boys are both very endearing but I could say I'm pretty much happy on how things ended up here. At the beginning of reading this, I was literally torn on who proposed to Jadyn and all that, I want it to be Phillip at the very same time I also want it to be Danny. But hey, I could say all's well that ends well in here.

That Boy is really one of the sweetest books I've read - EVER! Everything is mixed up very well; The Love, the humor, the little sadness and a whole lot of happiness. I'm pretty much excited for other upcoming books from Jillian Dodd especially the one from this series! Yay!
