Reads and Thoughts

Ola! I'm one of those crazy girls who is overly addictive to books and reading. I'm weird around books and tends to read them abnormally fast. And I'm a hopeful romantic who is a firm believer of Happily Ever Afters.
13 Little Blue Envelopes - Maureen Johnson 13 LITTLE BLUE ENVELOPES What a very interesting title! And that's what makes me want to read it. This just really seems to be so interesting. I so love love his book! GAAAAAAA! What i wouldn't give for a summer visiting London, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Edinurgh, Copenhagen, Germany and Greece ? Take me there. Now.

Virginia "Ginny" Blackstone was a typical High-school student from New Jersey who seems to be very content with her daily life. The only person or thing that makes her life happy and colorful is the presence of her loving Aunt Peg. Aunt Peg has been Ginny's favorite for all time, she's a very spontaneous and artful lady and seems to very much enjoy life. She runaway from home and explores the cities she wanted to see. But after those conquests, a very hard time arrived to Aunt Peg, she was diagnosed with cancer and soon died because of it.

After her aunt's death, Ginny received a mail containing 13 Little Blue envelopes and Ginny finds herself - her very own self that has never been anywhere - flying miles from home going to the city of London and meeting a man only her aunt known. Inscribed on those letters are instructions which Aunt Peg has written for Ginny to be followed to let her experience, see, and learn the things Aunt Peg has learned herself throughout her own conquest.

Ginny finds herself travelling through Paris, Rome to Amsterdam & Edinburgh & Copenhagen. Went across Germany in a train and all the way through Greece through a very slow ferry. Along the way she had seen collection of stone virgins, broken into a graveyard, been temporarily adopted by a strange family, been fully adopted by a group of Australians, and met an English actor guy whom she has swooned over and Ginny kinda has something bout him.

The story also features the importance of Arts on the places visited. Though I'm not really a fan of arts per se. I learned here the importance of arts to certain people like Aunt Peg. It seems to be that arts has been their way of communicating their feelings and emotions. Arts has been their friend in their times of loneliness and sorrow.

I like this book for it really gives us an inept description of the places Ginny has been visiting. It lets us see things the way she sees it. Learn and Analyze things the way she does it. The characters are also great. They all have their own stories though some of them would really surprise you!.

PS. As you can see its just the first book. Please do check its sequel
The Last Little Blue Envelope

The ending for this one is kinda stupid but funny at the same time. I just also finished reading the sequel to this. And i should say that. Its really do worth reading. :)

In all, this is a definite must read! I really adore the places and the characters. Especially the places. Europe. Yea. I'll be there. Someday. :)
