It felt as if his life passed before his eyes as a million images flew through his mind.
Of a pretty little girl with sad eyes, pretending to know how to play basketball so he'd keep her company.
Of that same girl as a teenager, closing her eyes as he kissed her under the pine trees.
Of the look of shock in her ice-blue eyes when she pressed her body to his the first time they danced and realized how much he wanted her.
Of her mischievous gaze, her face covered with shaving cream as they wrestled in the bathroom.
Of her trying to hide a black eye while swallowing her pride and asking if she could come back home.
Of those same eyes, puffy from too many shed tears, as she told him she had cancer.
All his life, it was her eyes-Zoey's beautiful blue eyes-that called to him, spoke to his heart. A tune jiggled and a song played. Her song.
Fix you is no ordinary story. It completely blows my mind and my heart away. This is a short read but what lies beneath its pages are so much more. The impact of the story was too much and I really love it tears and snot and all.
I'm not even on half of it and I already started crying. The scene between Robbie and Zoey when she told him she has cancer is my limit. I feel their heartbreaks and sorrow and it’s just heartbreaking. The scene was too emotional.
The story also gives us a certain flashback to the days when Robbie and Zoey first met. The development of their friendship and relationship was showed and the time they had being friends was just wow.
Zoey's dilemma of being in love with her best friend is not new but these types of stories really didn’t get old with me. She and Robbie shared a bond that is especially unique that seems to be unbreakable. They both have their ups and downs but at the end of the day they’re still there for one another.
Zoey's friends aka 'The Wine Girls' were great friends to her and a great support also. They all have their stories to tell and I have this certain feelings that their stories would be next to this series.
(fingers crossed) I struggle as the characters struggle and I cry as they cry - it sounds pathetic and silly but that’s the way it is when you read it. Robbie and Zoey deal with hard things but they did it as a very solid unit and embrace it with warmth and love. They deserve every piece of happiness and happily ever ever ever after.
Fix You is a beautifully written story that would surely capture your hearts and you minds. The characters are very real and the writing is pleasantly good that you could feel every little thing that is happening. I'm definitely looking out for the next books on this series.
